The main products from Shanghai Lijin is carbon fiber composite products including carbon fiber tubes and plates of various sizes. The manufacturing capability of the carbon fiber tubes covers almost all the possible sizes needed in the market.

We have two types of tubes manufactured, table-rolled and real filament wound.
The table-rolled tubes are made by wrapping the unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg onto a mandrel of certain diameter and length. The wall thickness of the tube is strictly calculated and controlled by the table-rolling machine. The surface of the tube can be carbon fiber twill or plain weave pattern fabric in different density like 1K,3K, 6K,12K. The smaller the number is, the finer the patter will be. Weave pattern in 3K is the main pattern offered in the material market and also mostly chosen by our customer. The fabric is prepreged with epoxy resin before rolled onto the mandrel. The tube with the mandrel is then oven-cured at temperature of 125 Celsius degree and is then unloaded from the mandrel after a certain time. The next is to do the surface treatement. To reach the precision of the size, especially the Outer Diameter, the tube will be usually ground with a centerless grinder. This might reduce the strength of the tube but can reach a higher tolerance. The Outer Diameter tolerance can be +/ -0.05mm, +/-0.10mm or sometimes +0.00/-0.08mm. The solution varies depending on the application requirements.

Starting from May 10, 2013, Shanghai Lijin has introduced a new line to cover the increasing demanding of real filament wound carbon fiber tube. The filament wound carbon fiber tube is usually of large size over 80mm diameter. They can be for yatch mast, telescopic pole and other heavy load products. The type of high modulus carbon fiber makes the tube rigid enough for many usage.

Carbon Fiber tubes can be coated by spraying the epoxy resin onto the surface. The degree of the spray makes the Matte and Glossy finish available. Of course, you can also choose not to have any spray after the grinding to ensure the good tolerance, because the epoxy resin takes 0.2mm thickness.
